The Obsession

The Darkness Before Dawn

I feel your pain
through every vein
in my body
It runs cloddy
I cannot move
stuck in your groove
You are not well
This I can tell
Just like a twin
under my skin
until you heal
this I will feel
Live not in fear
Soon it will clear
If you let me
I can set free
your mental crux
through gentle flux
I love you dear
though I'm not near
Your soul I know
Gifts it does sow
Please worry not
about a thought
They will be gone
one waking dawn

Fairy Ails

I know the demons

who lurk inside
You kick and scream
yet they won’t subside
They are not just in your mind
They crawl into your every cell
that they can find
It starts with a vision of a thought
From whence it came
you will forever know not
Then follows the innocent fear
The trembles and pouring
of many a tear
The pain in your gut as your body curls
into the position of your birth
Renders you immobile
as if glued to the earth
These monsters fill you with guilt
Though it is irrational
you wither and wilt
Your body shrinks
as your heart sinks
Hell opens up to you
You feel its heat
as your spirit falls through
Those you love try to pull you from the fire
Some accuse you
calling you a liar
They do not understand
that your heartache is real
They tell you to think about
how you are making them feel
There exists no switch
of which
you can just turn them on and off
You’re simply riding the waves made
when those demons scoff
If they laugh
then so should you
This eventually
is what you learn how to do
They will get bored
and the winds will be calm
Only every now and then
will they bring you a qualm
They will always be there
as they were from your start
They simply had to act
before you got too smart
But once you know
they do not own your soul
Your heart and mind
will begin to feel whole
Shadows cannot exist
if there is no light
So remember
they are yours to rule
with your gift so bright
Be at peace
for you are good
The life you deserve
is unfolding as it should

Why I Cried

You asked me why I cried
It is because the day I was born
was the day that I died
And the day you shared with me your strife
was the day I was brought back to life
I assure you my words are not in vain
when I say before you was only pain
For it is the truth when I say
you are the sole joy of my day
I cannot help what I feel
You have drawn me with your reel
Do not be frightened
I mean no harm
my heart you have enlightened
with your soul's charm
I simply want you to know
All I am trying to show
Until the break of dawn
I shall grieve that you are gone

Musical Genius of the Insomniac

He never sleeps
Yet, if he should
he wakes and weeps
Music he seeps
from out his mind
in bounds and leaps
It comes in heaps
through his fingers
to strings it sweeps
Secrets he keeps
find their solace
as gifts he reaps
Through his eyes peeps
gypsy struggle
which his soul steeps

From out of the Woodwork

From out of the woodwork you came
knowing nothing much but my name
My being has not been the same
as you engulfed me with your flame
That fire cannot keep me tame
Perhaps this rapture was your aim
Neither of us can take the blame
We both knew the rules of the game
My heart I allowed you to claim
Only your hands serve as its frame
Heartfelt and sincere without shame
your purpose is of utmost fame

Clouds on My Tongue

There are clouds on my tongue
The right words can't be sung
Enveloped in fog,
they are caught in a bog
Yet, if I could converse,
they would not be terse
Flooding through all the fears
lived out through all your years,
their rains would fully stop
the pain your tears drop
